CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (AIRPLANE)

PREREQUISITES:

Flight instructor tests are given in two parts. 

1. Fundamentals of Instruction

2. Analysis of Maneuvers

Both of these are in the written as well as the practical. Initial CFI check rides are taken with the FAA inspector and applicant must furnish a complex aircraft (retractable landing gear, constant speed propeller, flaps, etc). 

Flight instructors must be masters of flight, and be able to communicate with the student, in conveying his knowledge to the student. Also must be able to evaluate the maneuvers for the level of the student.
