PRIVATE PILOT COURSE PRICES

In order to introduce and inform you of costs of attaining your private pilot certificate through Leading Edge, we have prepared the following table based on the average of previous students.

The FAA minimum requirements for a private pilot license is 40 hours flight time and 20 hours of flight instruction as stated in the FAA regulations.

Many flight schools advertise an expected price based upon minimums. Leading Edge believes that the real world costs should be presented. (This is an estimate, not a guaranteed price).

General aptitude and the number of hours logged each week will affect the total cost for each student. (Prices are subject to change without notice.)

Leading Edge accepts Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and approved personal checks, Avcard and AvFuel.

Leading Edge does not require students to have funds on account. Students may either "Pay as they Go" using the above methods of payment, or place funds on account.

GROUND SCHOOL EDUCATION

Leading Edge Aviation offers a formal primary ground school, which is taught by certified FAA Flight instructors. Schedules for each class series are posted in the dispatch area and are taught either a once or twice each week.

If your schedule does not permit you to attend our ground school classes you can receive one- on- one instruction from your instructor and supplement your learning with Leading Edge's video library.

FLIGHT LESSONS

The length of an average flight lesson is 1.5 hours with approximately 1 hour of flight time.  Plan for pre/post flight briefings of approximately 15 minutes total.

Costs associated with the typical lesson are calculated to the tenth of an hour, and would be represented as follows:

Cost of PlaneCost of InstructorTotal Cost
